Founded in the Hudson Valley in 1981, long before the New York region became known as a premier agricultural and food destination, Beth’s Farm Kitchen specializes in handcrafted jams, jellies, chutneys, and lemon curd that are so delicious and wholesome that they’ve been a staple in the home kitchen of famed chef Mario Batali. Produced in small batches with fresh fruits and vegetables from Hudson Valley farms and using less sugar than most preserves, they’re bursting with pure fruit flavor and are coveted fixtures at NYC’s famed Greenmarket farmers markets and fine NY restaurants like Blue Hill at Stone Barns, The Breslin and City Bakery.

About The Food

Owner Beth Linskey began making strawberry jam in an 1850s farmhouse the old-fashioned way more than 30 years ago—preparing the freshest, local, in-season Hudson Valley fruit by hand and in small batches to coax out the fruit’s pure, mouthwatering flavor and texture. With a mission to let the flavor of the fruit shine, and to showcase deliciously pure jam at NYC’s Greenmarket, she used 2/3 fruit and 1/3 pure cane sugar—nearly half the sugar of most preserves—to instant success. Over the years, her production has expanded to other jams (don’t miss the bestselling, pie-like strawberry-rhubarb) and equally delicious chutneys (her second obsession), spicy jellies, and even lemon curd. But the purity remains—and makes these delectable spreads a revelation on sandwiches, toast, or pancakes; mixed into custom cocktails; or warmed and served over ice cream.

Meet The Owner

Long before farmers markets and the term “locally grown” were top food trends, Beth Linskey, a longtime buyer at Sears Roebuck, had a dream to bring the beautiful, fresh flavors of her home region, the Hudson Valley, to the bustling Greenmarket farmers markets of New York City. That dream translated to more than 30 years of superior preserves making, placement in some of NY’s finest dining rooms and bakeries, and a loyal, passionate clientele that loves her products and her ongoing efforts to empower women in business.
