About Jerry's

In the past 40 years Jerry’s has grown from roadside seafood stand, to food truck (before food trucks were hip) with a loyal, growing following of Maryland crab aficionados to a landmark Maryland seafood restaurant. Family owned and operated, Jerry’s is home of the famous Crab Bomb™ - 10 ounces of fresh, hand-picked, all jumbo lump crab meat, with absolutely no filler. The menu is built around Maryland seafood staples of crab cakes, crab soups and bisque, all made with generous amounts of the finest fresh, hand-picked crab meat using family recipes. Jerry’s passionate devotion to freshness and quality combined with an attention to detail and service keeps seafood lovers coming back.

About Their Seafood

Jerry’s has become a landmark Maryland seafood restaurant that is the home of The Crab Bomb™ - 10 ounces for fresh, hand-picked, jumbo lump crab meat perfectly seasoned with Old Bay and held together with a touch of mayo, and absolutely no filler. The Washington Post has called it “as close to perfection as crab meat can get.” The Baby Bomb and their Crab Cake are smaller versions made with the same fresh crab meat and recipe. Equally popular with customers are their three crab soups. The vegetable based Maryland Crab Soup, the rich and silky Cream of Crab Soup with a touch of curry, and the creamy Crab Bisque with a hint of sherry are all made from scratch using Grandma Gainey’s recipes. Since the very beginning, Jerry’s has been passionate about using generous quantities of only the finest quality fresh, hand-picked jumbo lump crab meat, and it shows.

Meet The Owners

Jerry Gainey started over 40 years ago with a roadside seafood stand, bringing fresh crabs to the Maryland suburbs outside Washington D.C. His business quickly grew into a food truck, long before food trucks were hip. Decades before social media, Maryland crab aficionados knew they could rely on Jerry for the best supply of crabs and home-made crab soups. From there he began supplying a restaurant with his crabs and soups, and then it was a short leap to starting his own restaurant. In 2003 Jerry sold the popular restaurant over to his nephew, Philip Gainey and longtime employee Jason Lee, who have expanded while remaining true to Jerry’s mission of making the finest Maryland crab dishes with generous amounts of the highest quality, fresh, hand-picked crab meat using family recipes. It’s a recipe that’s been keeping seafood lovers coming back for over 30 years.

Preparation and Storage

Crab Bombs and Cakes* Remove from packaging and place on an oven-safe cooking surface. Preheat oven to 500°F. Place cooking surface with Crab Bombs in the oven and cook for approximately 15 minutes or until golden brown (140°F). Hint: The crab bombs and cakes are all crab, no filler, so they may need to be compacted a bit before and possibly after heating to get that perfect round presentation.

*Do not freeze crab bombs, cakes, bisque or cream of crab soup.

Crab Soups and Bisque Pour the soup or bisque from the plastic shipping container into an appropriately sized, approved stove top pot. Cook over low to medium heat stirring frequently until the soup reaches a satisfactory temperature (150-160 deg. F)

All products are shipped fresh never frozen and must be refrigerated upon arrival. Best served within 2 days of arrival.

Enjoy a true taste of Maryland seafood!
