About The Food

Most people don't know all that goes into the lobster pot pie, rolls and pizza at Kennebunk Inn’s Academe restaurant before they fall in love with them, as they invariably do. But the magic is in their making, starting with fresh Maine lobster and top-notch ingredients, including organic herb and vegetables from the Inn’s garden. The commitment to quality extends to the foods they ship; their lobster rolls and pizzas are incredibly delicious and their elegant and famous puff pastry-topped pot pies arrive fresh, never frozen or even cooked, so that you can pop them in the oven to bake, and savor the same level of freshness you’d get if you were at the restaurant.

Meet The Owner

Since taking over the historic inn in 2003, Culinary Institute of America grads Shanna Horner O’Hea and Brian O’Hea have overseen day-to-day operations and the restaurant—and worked hard to boost its reputation as a culinary destination. Their efforts have definitely been noticed. They have appeared on "Best Thing I Ever Ate," "Chopped," and "Rewrapped" on the Food Network and on the Travel Channel's "Food Paradise." The O'Heas have been guest chefs at Walt Disney World's Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, Houston's "Sugar Land Food & Wine Affair, Boca Raton's "Boca Bacchanal" Food & Wine Festival, and on Holland America Cruise Line. In 2013 Shanna was a finalist for the Maine Lobster Chef of the Year. The O’Heas’ goal is to continue to serve the finest regional cuisine in the area, as well as to foster and respect green business practices that enhance the dining experience and local sustainability.

Shipping Days

FREE GROUND SHIPPING - If your shipping address is reachable from The Kennebunk Inn via FedEx Ground service within one day (as indicated by the orange zone in the shipping map), you will be presented with FREE SHIPPING upon checkout.
$ 29.95 Flat-Rate Shipping - If your shipping address is beyond 1-day ground reach (as indicated by the gray zone in the shipping map), you will be presented with a flat rate of just $ 29.95 for FedEx Standard Overnight upon checkout.

*Please note that the flat rates above will be applied per shipping box. All products from The Kennebunk Inn require their own shipping box. You will be presented with the actual shipping rate before making your purchase.

Saturday delivery is available for an additional charge. Service to Alaska is now available from Kenebunk Inn. Service to Hawaii and outside the U.S. currently not available.

Orders are shipped on Tuesday through Friday, except holidays. Orders placed by 5:00 PM ET Wednesday through Friday can be shipped the following day. The max allowable transit time for all items is 1 day. Perishable items cannot be shipped over a weekend and cannot be delivered on Sunday or Monday.

Weather and unforeseen circumstances can delay your shipment. We strongly recommend that you schedule your order to arrive at least 1 business day before your desired usage date to allow for any delays.

Shipping Options

The following shipping options are available depending upon the delivery date selected and reflect the max allowable transit time of one day:

Ground Shipping (1 Day) - If a customer’s shipping address is reachable via FedEx Ground service within 1 day, they will be presented with a FREE SHIPPING upon checkout. Orders will be delivered via FedEx Ground service on or before the selected arrival date, between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM to residences, and between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM to businesses.

FedEx Standard Overnight - Your package will be delivered on the next business day after it has been shipped - by 3 PM to most addresses, by 4:30 PM to rural addresses. The flat-rate for Standard Overnight is $29.95.

FedEx Priority Overnight - Your package will be delivered the next business day after it has shipped, by 10:30 AM to most addresses. The flat rate for Priority Overnight is $34.95.

Once your order has shipped, you will receive a ship notification email with a tracking number for each package in your order. When your order has been delivered, you will also receive a delivery notification email.

Saturday Delivery - Saturday delivery is available via FedEx Priority Overnight service for an additional charge of $20 per package. Deliveries are made between 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM, depending upon delivery address. If a customer’s shipping address is reachable via FedEx Ground service within 1 day, Saturday delivery is available for the same free shipping, and deliveries are made between 9 AM and 8 PM. All food from The Kennebunk Inn are shipped in recyclable containers with plenty of protective packing materials to assure they arrive in excellent condition within the max allowable transit time of 1 day.

All orders are shipped signature release. This means FedEx will leave the package at the doorstep, front desk or gate associated with the shipping address without requiring a signature upon delivery. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the contents of the package are stored in a freezer or refrigerator promptly after delivery. FoodyDirect cannot be responsible for orders with incomplete or invalid addresses, or that are sent to recipients who are not available to store the contents of the order on the day of arrival. FedEx cannot deliver to a P.O. box.

Storage & Care

Lobster meat can be kept refrigerated and consumed within 4 days or frozen for one month. Puff pastry and pizza shell can be frozen for one month and should be kept frozen until needed. Sea-salt compound butter, brioche hot dog rolls and pot pie filling can be frozen for one month and thawed in the refrigerator overnight.
