Orders are shipped on Tuesday through Friday, except holidays. Orders placed by 5:00 PM ET Monday through Thursday can be shipped the following day. The max allowable transit time for all items is 1 day. Perishable items cannot be shipped over a weekend and cannot be delivered on Sunday or Monday.


Weather and unforeseen circumstances can delay your shipment. We strongly recommend that you schedule your order to arrive at least 1 business day before your desired usage date to allow for any delays.


Shipping Options

The following shipping options are available depending upon the delivery date selected and reflect the max allowable transit time of one day:


Ground Shipping (1 Day) - If a customer’s shipping address is reachable via FedEx Ground service within 1 day, they will be presented with a FREE SHIPPING upon checkout. Orders will be delivered via FedEx Ground service on or before the selected arrival date, between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM to residences, and between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM to businesses.


FedEx Standard Overnight - Your package will be delivered on the next business day after it has been shipped - by 3 PM to most addresses, by 4:30 PM to rural addresses. The flat-rate for Standard Overnight is $29.95.


FedEx Priority Overnight - Your package will be delivered the next business day after it has shipped, by 10:30 AM to most addresses. The flat rate for Priority Overnight is $34.95.


Once your order has shipped, you will receive a ship notification email with a tracking number for each package in your order. When your order has been delivered, you will also receive a delivery notification email.


Saturday Delivery - Saturday delivery is available via FedEx Priority Overnight service for an additional charge of $20 per package. Deliveries are made between 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM, depending upon delivery address. If a customer’s shipping address is reachable via FedEx Ground service within 1 day, Saturday delivery is available for the same free shipping, and deliveries are made between 9 AM and 8 PM. Packaging

All food from The Kennebunk Inn are shipped in recyclable containers with plenty of protective packing materials to assure they arrive in excellent condition within the max allowable transit time of 1 day.

All orders are shipped signature release. This means FedEx will leave the package at the doorstep, front desk or gate associated with the shipping address without requiring a signature upon delivery. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the contents of the package are stored in a freezer or refrigerator promptly after delivery. FoodyDirect cannot be responsible for orders with incomplete or invalid addresses, or that are sent to recipients who are not available to store the contents of the order on the day of arrival. FedEx cannot deliver to a P.O. box.

Storage & Care

Lobster meat can be kept refrigerated and consumed within 4 days or frozen for one month. Puff pastry and pizza shell can be frozen for one month and should be kept frozen until needed. Sea-salt compound butter, brioche hot dog rolls and pot pie filling can be frozen for one month and thawed in the refrigerator overnight.

Order Cut-Off Time

Orders placed Monday through Thursday by 5:00PM ET can ship as early as the next day.

Storage & Care:

Lobster meat can be kept refrigerated and consumed within 4 days or frozen for one month. Puff pastry and pizza shell can be frozen for one month and should be kept frozen until needed. Sea-salt compound butter, brioche hot dog rolls and pot pie filling can be frozen for one month and thawed in the refrigerator overnight.

Preparation:

This Lobster Pot Pie kit includes the following: The pot pie filling with fresh picked Maine lobster (tail, knuckle, and claw meat), potatoes, corn and peas all in a sealed pouch; and handcrafted puff pastry lids on sealed foil trays .


All items should be kept refrigerated until ready to bake and put together. If the pot pie filling has been frozen and thawed overnight, refer to cooking option two. If pot pie base has separated then whisk mixture together.


Cooking:


Puff Pastry - Preheat oven to 400∞ put puff pastry lids in oven on a greased tray. Bake for 6-10 minutes until puffed & golden brown.


Pot Pie Filling:


Option one: To heat the pot pie filling place the sealed bag in simmering water, for eight minutes until warmed through, or;


Option two: Cut bag open and pour the pot pie filling into a saute pan on the stove over medium heat. Heat filling until it begins to boil and thicken.


Plating: Pour the pot pie filling into warmed ramekins (or individual serving dishes); top with the puff pastry. Serve immediately.

These pot pies were very good. However, I think I was expecting something a little different. It felt more like a soup, but maybe that's the way it is supposed to be. There were huge chunks of lobster so that was enjoyable! The puff pastry was very good too. Overall, I was happy, but probably wouldn't order it again.
