About The Food

My Pie’s deep-dish dough recipe was developed by owner Rich Aronson’s father, a fourth generation baker whose family came to the US from Bialystok, Belarus, in 1905. Made fresh daily and timed so the third “proofing” of the dough is in the oven, it has a wonderfully fresh yeast taste and a crispness that magically remains tender to the bite. My Pie’s sauce is equally special. Made in house from vine-ripened San Marzano tomatoes from California and a special blend of herbs and spices, it’s got a bright tomato taste and a touch of sweetness. They source their top-quality artisan cheeses from Central Wisconsin dairies. Finishing the perfect pie is an astounding variety of toppings and customization opportunities, so you can get authentic Chicago deep dish taste just the way you like it.

Meet The Owner

When Larry Aronson began his retirement, his son Rich took over the business as the fifth generation in the culinary field. A graduate of the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in restaurant management and a Culinary Institute of American grad with a culinary arts degree and a fine-dining background, Rich continues to build on the Chicago pizza traditions established by his father more than 40 years ago. Rich’s mantra? “We want to be the best (not the biggest) deep dish pizza in Chicago!”.

Shipping Days

At FoodyDirect we are doing everything we can to drive down shipping costs for our customers, including offering Low Flat-Rate Shipping.

$ 14.95 Flat-Rate Shipping - If your shipping address is reachable from My Pi via UPS Ground service within 3 days, you will be presented with the low shipping rate of $ 14.95 upon checkout.
$ 39.95 Flat-Rate Shipping - If your shipping address is beyond 3-day ground reach, you will be presented with a flat rate of $ 39.95 for 2nd-Day Air upon checkout.

*Please note that the flat rates above will be applied per shipping box. Up to 4 pizzas can be combined into a single box. You will be presented with the actual shipping rate before making your final purchase.

Next Day Air service may be available for an additional charge. Saturday delivery is not available.
Service to Alaska and Hawaii is available for +$20 (sorry). Service outside the U.S. currently not available.

Orders are shipped Monday through Wednesday, except holidays. Orders placed by 2:00 PM (ET) can be shipped the following day. The max allowable transit time for all pizza is 3 days. Perishable items cannot be shipped over a weekend and cannot be delivered on Sunday or Monday.

Weather and unforeseen circumstances can delay your shipment. We strongly recommend that you schedule your order to arrive at least 1 business day before your desired usage date to allow for any delays.

Shipping Options

The following shipping options are available depending upon the delivery date selected and reflect the max allowable transit time for products from My Pi:

Ground Shipping (1-3 Days) - If a customer’s shipping address is reachable via UPS Ground service within 3 days, they will be presented with a $14.95 Flat-Rate Shipping upon checkout. Orders will be delivered via UPS Ground service on or before the selected arrival date, between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM to residences, and between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM to businesses.

2nd-Day Air - If the shipping address is not reachable within 3 days via UPS Ground service, the customer will be presented with $39.95 Flat-Rate Shipping upon checkout. The order will be shipped via UPS 2nd-Day Air and will be delivered on or before the end of the second business day following shipment. Delivery time can vary based on area, but can be as late as 8:00 p.m. to residences and 5:00 p.m. to businesses.

UPS Next Day Air Saver - Your package will be delivered by the end of the next business day after it has been shipped. Delivery time can vary based on area, but can be as late as 8:00 p.m. to residences and 5:00 p.m. to businesses. The flat-rate for Next Day Air Saver is $54.95.

UPS Next Day Air (AM Delivery) - Your package will be delivered the next morning after it has shipped (or Saturday if upgrading to Saturday delivery), by 12 noon to most addresses. The flat-rate for Next Day Air is $59.95 (per shipping box).

Once your order has shipped, you will receive a ship notification email with a tracking number for each package in your order. When your order has been delivered, you will also receive a delivery notification email.

Packaging & Delivery

All food from My Pi is shipped in extra thick recyclable foam containers with dry ice to assure it arrives in excellent condition within the max allowable transit time of 3 days.

All orders are shipped signature release. This means UPS will leave the package at the doorstep, front desk or gate associated with the shipping address without requiring a signature upon delivery. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the contents of the package are stored in a freezer or refrigerator promptly after delivery. FoodyDirect cannot be responsible for orders with incomplete or invalid addresses, or that are sent to recipients who are not available to store the contents of the order on the day of arrival. UPS cannot deliver to a P.O. box.

Prep & Care

STORE: My Pi pizzas will be fully or partially frozen upon arrival. Place pizzas in your freezer where you can store them for up to 6 months (but pizzas are best enjoyed within 90 days). Refrigerate any leftovers immediately and consume within 2 days.

PREP: Do not preheat your oven. Remove the pizza from its packaging. Place the pizza directly on your oven rack — the middle rack is ideal. Place a foil sheet on a lower rack or on the bottom of your oven in case cheese or sauce drips over. Then turn your oven on to 400°F. Bake your pizza about 35-45 minutes. The cook time depends on two important factors: how well your oven heats, and what type of pizza you’re heating (veggie pizzas and multiple-item pizzas will take longer to cook). After 30 minutes, continue to check your pizza every 5 minutes until it is done to your liking.

Microwave cooking is NOT recommended.

Your pizza is done when: The sauce is no longer too watery, the internal temperature is 160°F, and the crust is crisp and golden (or to your preference). Quick fixes: If your sauce is too watery, bake the pizza for longer. If the crust is browning too quickly, move to a higher shelf in the oven or carefully put the pizza on cookie sheet. If the crust is not browned enough, move to lower oven shelf.
