Pat's Original Burger Blend was developed by Pat LaFrieda's grandfather over 90 years ago and has not changed since. This blend is a combination of chuck, brisket, and short-rib from American Black Angus Beef. The chuck, specifically the flat iron portion of it, brings a New York Strip Steak flavor to the burger. The brisket adds enough fat to keep the burger juicy, while the short-rib imparts a hint of sweetness. This versatile blend tastes great cooked to any level of doneness.

Low Flat-Rate Shipping for Pat LaFrieda Meats

At FoodyDirect we are doing everything we can to drive down shipping costs for our customers, including offering Low Flat-Rate Shipping.


$ 9.95 Flat-Rate Shipping - If your shipping address is reachable from Pat LaFrieda overnight via UPS Ground service, you will be presented with the incredibly low shipping rate of $ 9.95 upon checkout.
$ 19.95 Flat-Rate Shipping - If your shipping address is beyond next-day ground reach, you will be presented with a flat rate of just $ 19.95 for UPS Next Day Air Saver upon checkout.


*Please note that the flat rates above will be applied per shipping box. While some packages can be combined into a single box, most packages from Pat LaFrieda require their own shipping box. You will be presented with the actual shipping rate before making your purchase.

Next Day Air service (AM delivery) and Saturday delivery are available for an additional charge. Service to AK, HI and outside the U.S. currently not available.


Orders are shipped on Monday through Friday, except holidays. Orders placed by 5:00 PM (ET) can be shipped the following day. Perishable items cannot be shipped over a weekend and cannot be delivered on Sunday or Monday.


Weather and unforeseen circumstances can delay your shipment. We strongly recommend that you schedule your order to arrive at least 1 business day before your desired usage date to allow for any delays.


Shipping Options

The following shipping options are available depending upon the delivery date selected:


Ground Shipping (Overnight) - If a customer’s shipping address is reachable overnight via UPS Ground service, they will be presented with a $9.95 Flat-Rate Shipping upon checkout. Orders will be delivered via UPS Ground service on the selected arrival date, between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM to residences, and between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM to businesses.


UPS Next Day Air Saver - If the shipping address is not reachable overnight via UPS Ground service, the customer will be presented with $19.95 Flat-Rate Shipping upon checkout. The order will be shipped via UPS Next Day Air Saver and will be delivered by the end of the next day following shipment. Delivery time can vary based on area, but can be as late as 8:00 p.m. to residences and 5:00 p.m. to businesses.


UPS Next Day - Your package will be delivered the following morning after it ships, in most cases by noon. The flat-rate for UPS Next Day service is $24.95.


Saturday Delivery - Saturday delivery is available for Next Day Air only, for an additional charge of $20 per shipment (for a total cost of $49.95). Deliveries are made between 10:30 AM and 12:00 PM (noon), depending upon delivery address. Saturday delivery is not available for UPS Ground shipments.

Packaging & Delivery

All food from Pat LaFrieda Meats is shipped in extra thick recyclable foam containers with sufficient coolant to assure it arrives in excellent condition within the max allowable transit time of 1 day.


All orders are shipped signature release. This means UPS will leave the package at the doorstep, front desk or gate associated with the shipping address without requiring a signature upon delivery. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the contents of the package are stored in a freezer or refrigerator promptly after delivery. FoodyDirect cannot be responsible for orders with incomplete or invalid addresses, or that are sent to recipients who are not available to store the contents of the order on the day of arrival. UPS cannot deliver to a P.O. box.

Storage & Care

All meat from Pat LaFrieda is cut (or ground) to order, and packed in vacuum-sealed packaging on the day it ships to ensure absolute freshness. All items are shipped fresh and with ice packs to keep the items cool. Meat can be refrigerated for up to 7 days in the vacuum-sealed bag. Once the bag has been opened, meat should be consumed within 48 hours. Meat can be stored in your freezer for up to one month.

Order Cut-Off Time:

Orders placed by 5pm ET Monday through Wednesday can be shipped as early as the next day.

Storage & Care:

Pat LaFrieda’s Cooking Tips

  • Keep your burger or steak at 36°F until you are ready to start cooking, so the insides will not overcook. (You can use a meat thermometer to check the temperature)
  • Salt the meat before cooking, (pepper it after), and cook at a temperature of 500°F
  • When cooking your steak(s): don’t flip the meat repeatedly. Let the meat cook just long enough on each side so it does not burn. You should flip a total of only 4 times.

This is the third time I ordered Pat's Original Burger Blend, I didn't know I had to write an review every time I place an order. Since this is my third order in less than two months, I guess that says it all. I love them and several family members who tried them love them just as much. I plan on ordering them again at least two more time before the year is over.

I had ordered burgers in the past from other sources but Pat's Original Burger Blend is the best I ever had. The meat is very tender and juicy. Then the flavor, OMG, and that says it all. I know I have high cholesterol and have to watch my beef intake but I will be ordering Pat's Original Burger Blend again. I recommend this product to anyone who loves a delicious, tender, juicy burger.....with or without high cholesterol.

We had actually had this burger at a restaurant in Philly and it was so good, we had to order them. They are fantastic, great flavor and they cook up real nice, especially on a cast iron pan if you have one. Order and shipping process was a breeze. Will order again for sure.
