Introduction

The "Official State Pastry of Wisconsin" was originally brought to Racine, Wisconsin in the late 1800's by Danish immigrants. The unique and delicious Kringle quickly became popular in Southeastern Wisconsin, earning Racine the nickname, “Kringleville.” Every Kringle from Racine Danish Kringles is prepared, baked, and iced by hand, and every bite comes packed with 81 layers of buttery, flaky, pastry. Though almond is the original time-honored filling, it’s just one of the eight delicious flavor options available at Racine Danish Kringles (Raspberry, Cherry, Cheesecake, Apple-Cinnamon, Pecan, Cinnamon, Cheesecake and Praline Pecan).

About The Food

Using traditional recipes and baking methods handed down from previous generations, the dough for this perfect Kringle is hand folded over and over, creating its signature 81 layers before resting for three days. After being properly shaped by hand, they’re baked and then individually iced, creating a one-of-a-kind Danish Kringle. It’s offered in eight different delicious fruit, nut and specialty fillings, including Almond, Pecan, Raspberry, Apple-cinnamon, Cherry, Cinnamon, Cheesecake and Praline-pecan. All products are Kosher-Dairy, and endorsed by Kosher Supervisors of Wisconsin. Racine Danish Kringles have also been featured in Food Network Magazine as one of their favorite recommendations for food gifts during the holiday season.

Meet The Owner

With a Danish recipe passed down for three generations, Racine Danish Kringles continues to use the same time-honored recipe Danish bakers brought to southern Wisconsin in the late 1800s. Since 1988, the Heyer family has been a part of Racine Danish Kringles. Chris Heyer is continuing the tradition of his parents, Michael and Roylene Heyer, by ensuring customers receive the best customer experience and the highest quality Kringle. They’re proud of their Kringle because to them, “It’s Not Just a Treat, It’s a Tradition.” A tradition that’s carried on for over thirty years because of a desire to share their love of Kringle with the people of Wisconsin. And now that Kringle is being shared nationwide!

Storage & Care
  • Kringle can be served warm or at room temperature. To warm a Kringle, place in the oven at 275 degrees for about 3-5 minutes, or in the microwave for about 7-10 seconds.
  • Kringle is a shelf stable bakery item (5-7 days), and its food safety will not be impacted by temperature. If you will not eat it right away we recommend you freeze it to keep it fresh - never refrigerate.
  • To thaw, remove from freezer and let sit for about one hour before serving.
