What began as mad science meets culinary venture is now known as The Doughnut Project. In a world that is stuffed to the gills with sweet shops and fad foods, The Doughnut Project goes beyond sprinkles and cream cheese frosting and amps things up with boundary breakers like Beet & Ricotta, Lemon Love Letter, the iconic Everything Doughnut, and the who'da thunk it, limited release Chicken Wing Doughnut! TDP's small batch, hand-crafted yeast doughnuts are the result of a unique focus on, and dedication to finding your flavor cravings and satisfying fresh hand-crafted doughnut at a time.

About the Food

The Doughnut Project's hand-crafted yeast doughnuts are made in small batches throughout the day, but it's a their single-minded dedication to finding your flavor cravings and satisfying them that truly sets them apart. Get bit by the habanero kick of the Bulletproof Tiger. Satisfy that chocolate craving with the salty pretzel goodness of a Costanza. Take a bite out of a West Coast classic: The Maple Bacon bar. Indulge in the iconic Everything Doughnut. And if you're one of the adventurous lucky ones, discover and savor the limited release Chicken Wing Doughnut.

Meet The Owners

All work and no play make for bad doughnuts. Founders Leslie Polizzotto and Troy Neal may take their doughnuts seriously, but they believe in fun first. Whether it’s playing with food icons from childhood or translating cocktail inspired flavors to savory and sweet treats, they want your experience of their doughnuts to be as exciting as it is for them. Troy handles all creative aspects, product development, branding and day to day operations, while Leslie handles marketing, sales, strategy, human resources, social media, and growth, collaborations and licensing opportunities. Nonetheless, she can still be found having fun pulling shots and serving doughnuts most days in the shop.





Shipping Days

At FoodyDirect we are doing everything we can to drive down shipping costs for our customers, including offering Low Flat-Rate Shipping.

$ 9.95 Flat-Rate Shipping - If your shipping address is reachable from The Doughnut Project via UPS Ground service within one day, you will be presented with the incredibly low shipping rate of $ 9.95 upon checkout.
$ 24.95 Flat-Rate Shipping - If your shipping address is beyond ground reach, you will be presented with a flat rate of $ 24.95 for Next Day Air Saver upon checkout.

*Please note that the flat rates above will be applied per shipping box. While some packages can be combined into a single box, some packages from The Donut Project require their own shipping box. You will be presented with the actual shipping rate before making your purchase.

Saturday delivery is not available. Service to Alaska is available (+ $20). Service to Hawaii and outside the U.S. currently not available (sorry).

Orders are shipped Monday through Thursday. Orders placed by Midnight (ET) can be shipped the following day. The max allowable transit time for all products is 1 day. Perishable items cannot be shipped over a weekend and cannot be delivered on Sunday or Monday.

Weather and unforeseen circumstances can delay your shipment. We strongly recommend that you schedule your order to arrive at least 1 business day before your desired usage date to allow for any delays.

Shipping Options

The following shipping options are available depending upon the delivery date selected and reflect the max allowable transit time for products from The Donut Project:

Ground Shipping (1 Day) - If a customer’s shipping address is reachable via UPS Ground service within 1 day, they will be presented with a $9.95 Flat-Rate Shipping upon checkout. Orders will be delivered via UPS Ground service on or before the selected arrival date, between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM to residences, and between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM to businesses.

UPS Next Day Air Saver - Your package will be delivered by the end of the next business day after it has been shipped. Delivery time can vary based on area, but can be as late as 8:00 p.m. to residences and 5:00 p.m. to businesses. The flat-rate for Next Day Air Saver is $24.95.

UPS Next Day Air (AM Delivery) - Your package will be delivered the next morning after it has shipped, by 12 noon to most addresses. The flat rate for Next Day Air is $29.95.

Saturday delivery is not available from The Doughnut Project.

Once your order has shipped, you will receive a ship notification email with a tracking number for each package in your order. When your order has been delivered, you will also receive a delivery notification email.

Packaging & Delivery

All food from The Donut Project is professionally packed and shipped to assure it arrives in excellent condition within the max allowable transit time of 1 day.

All orders are shipped signature release. This means UPS will leave the package at the doorstep, front desk or gate associated with the shipping address without requiring a signature upon delivery. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the contents of the package are stored in a freezer promptly after delivery. FoodyDirect cannot be responsible for orders with incomplete or invalid addresses, or that are sent to recipients who are not available to store the contents of the order on the day of arrival. UPS cannot deliver to a P.O. box.

Storage & Care

Doughnuts were freshly baked just before shipping. Store at room temperature and enjoy the day of delivery, or freeze in an airtight bag or container for up to 1 month. Bleu Cheese should be stored in your refrigerator until ready to use.

Warming (Optional): We recommend warming your doughnuts very briefly, as follows:

  • Suggested Method: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees, warm on a baking sheet for approximately 4 minutes. After warming, sprinkle bleu cheese crumbles on top. Enjoy!

  • Alternate Method: Warm in the microwave for 5 to 10 seconds. After warming, sprinkle bleu cheese crumbles on top. Enjoy!
